I put the song on just for you Nancy although I think she may have the tune a little wrong. These are a few songs T-man has learned in Kindergarten. I just love the songs. I know the rest of you will even though you probably won't be able to understand them~

Costume Party

Our friends in the neighborhood had this great Halloween party last week. I was so surprised at everyone elses costumes. Everyone was so creative!!! Except for my husband and I. I tried to explain to him that it was a "couples" costume party, that we needed to go as something together. He worried about himself and headed to the Home Depot to get himself a "Painter's outfit" and left me in the dust. Oh well. I got to smell a stinky mask for about 2 minutes instead. Don't I look great as some old guy in a polyester jump suit?

We carved pumpkins last night and had to get the creative juices flowing when the kids started to ask for things that we weren't so sure how to do. My favorite part of the whole night was watching the little one start to cry as we showed her the inside of the pumpkin. She couldn't stop saying "YUCKY" and running away from the whole thing. She even freaked out when one little lone pumpkin seed fell from my hand onto the table. She didn't help us much, she played in the toy room the whole time. The other kids loved watching us even though they were a little reluctant to help us much more than that. They were most excited lighting the matches to start the candles. Pretty typical.

Little princess learned this cute poem at her preschool and has been singing it all week. I thought it was only appropriate with my witch pictures from Gardner Village. I went twice within one week and the second time was during UEA, absolutely crazy. Never again on that day. I noticed I didn't get as many pictures with the witches, but that was because the lines were so long. I may go back this week if the weather is good.

A Hiatus for Whatever Reason

I have been asked a few times where I have been...I wish I could say somewhere fun. It is just that I am in the groove of life and haven't had much time to sit down and write. Somewhere between being a mom of 3 and a wife, balancing 2 other small jobs (and I do mean small), callings, and life, I haven't had time to sit and think. It really is all that is needed sometimes. That time to think about things. Politics seems to be swirling around so much lately, that I haven't had the time to think about the other things. But I have had time to think about this: being in the world, but not of the world. It is an old age adage, one you here frequently. I don't know why I keep thinking about it but it can be a hard balance at times. And so I think. And the thing that surrounds that think, it something I want to be. Be a gentler, kinder, more loving person. I know there is always room for more of that.

I Want That ONE, No That ONE

We went to the cute pumpkin patch down the street from us again this year. The kids had so much fun playing on the tractors and doing the corn maze. Then we moved on to the exciting part of each getting to pick out their own pumpkin. This year the pumpkin patch had weeds, so many weeds that they were just too tall and too many that they had to cut all the pumpkins off of the vines and line them up in rows while cleaning the rest of the stuff out. We still got to have a wheelbarrow that was fun for the kids to ride in. Just not any big clippers to cut the pumpkins off with, better safe than sorry. It was freezing, so we didn't last very long, but it definitely is a tradition in the making.

Tinkerbell Flies By

This little one has some serious talent in heels. I can't even walk in them let alone run. Maybe someday her mad skills will get her some where in life.

The Maddening, Circling Dilemma to Cookie Monster

My little princess is into the inquisitive phase of life. I laugh at some of the questions she asks, and am even more baffled by some of the creativity of others. Her favorite question to ask is why things are named what they are, or why we named her or her siblings what we named them. She has told me on a number of occasions that she would have rather been named "Ariel".
I recently overheard the following conversation between her and her daddy. Come on Brett. Cut the kid some slack.

P: Why is Cookie Monster named Cookie Monster?
Brett: Because he likes to eat cookies.
P: Why does he like to eat cookies?
Brett: Because his name is Cookie Monster.
P: Why is his name Cookie Monster?
Brett: Because he likes to eat cookies.

And on and on and on until I had to tell Brett to stick a fork in it.

Vegetarian in the Making

My little one this weekend discovered that ground beef and "poo-poo" look quite a bit a like. I was trying to feed her a taco, and every time I would get it close to her mouth and she would eye it, she would pull away, shake her head and say "poo-poo, poo-poo". Then, she would precede to shake her hands by her nose and say "yucky" (just like we do when we change her bum). I thought this was a short lived, one day thing, but tonight, I tried again. Tonight for dinner we had taco pie with beans and meat, and the same thing, when she went to have a bite: "poo-poo". I don't know if she is going to be the vegetarian, or if I am after all the images she is helping to produce in my mind.

Swim Time

The pool was crazy with 8 kids and only the 3 men taking care of them. The kids swam until they turned into prunes!!!

Hidden Valley Splashpad

We went to play at this great splashpad at Hidden Valley. It had a great playground that was huge and even had large umbrellas. It wasn't that hot, but it didn't stop the kids from getting wet.

Red Cliffs Hike

We went on a leisurely hike while in St. George. I have done this hike before, but in the spring when the creek is full and there is a waterfall. It was still pretty, and the kids loved it and did great. Other than seeing a tarantula and a few lizards, I had a great time. Not much of one for the creepy, crawly!

Up Close, Too Close

We headed down to St. George over the weekend and had a great time. I will upload more pictures later, but I had to post this picture. I have been trying to research online what type of spider it really was, but can't figure it out for sure. Some think it was a tarantula. Brett got a little too close for my personal comfort, and with my little girl!!! I told him to be careful that it might jump on him but he wasn't convinced. I could only stick around for one picture, so I should have taken a closer shot, but just couldn't. I am going to have nightmares tonight about spiders after looking at images online, too many...Just click on the picture for a closer view.

My Laundry Monster

Where are all of my missing clothes??? I am so baffled. I go to find something and it isn't there. I have racked my brain as to where it might be, but I have no idea.
When I was in high school, admittedly so, I used scrunchies. They used to disappear left and right and I was pretty convinced that I had a monster in my room who liked to eat them.
Apparantely he is back in full force. Now, if only I could find my monster spray.
