Irony

"Isn't it ironic, don't you think, a little too ironic, yea, I really do think". I think it's ironic that the last time I made a post I was awaiting the arrival of said baby girl. Since then, I have had 2 baby girls. I have also moved to a new house and have a new job. Life comes at you fast. Be ready for it.
I think it's ironic I have four feet tall weeds in my backyard because every time our landscape guy could move dirt, it was forecast to rain. Every single weekend in May and the first two in June, except one. The one weekend we were baptizing Kate and blessing Ava and I had family in town. We were using my porch to help host the wonderful love and support of so many. Crossing my fingers for this weekend.
I think it's ironic that everyone is out of school, except year round kids and my kids school. We do get extra weeks off during the school year, but we are still dragging this school year out. Two more half days and then summer really starts for us. Not sure if I am ready or not. But ready or not, here they come!!! The best part of the summer is that my little 3 year old will have kids to play with and entertain her. It won't have to be me all day long.
I think it's ironic that I am making a post because recently I started another blog for a family member. My mother in law was diagnosed with oral cancer. I started the blog for her so people could check it out for updates. Then I remembered my blog, or the lack thereof. I was looking at a few things tonight and decided to post. And the ironic thing is, I don't remember what I used to ever post about. Do people really even blog anymore. I let instagram take over my journaling, so do I continue to blog or not?
Irony. It's an interesting concept.

Wasatch Snowmobiling and WAITING

 As was evidenced by Brett's face on Sunday, he spent Saturday outside in the sun! Wouldn't have guessed it by his racoon eyes. My dad came into town to take my niece and nephew snowmobiling and invited Brett and Tan to go along. Wish I could say I went! I think that would have stopped this waiting game and helped me have this baby. Still pregnant. I have never taken any pregnancy pictures. I decided I should take a few this go around since it could be my last. Notice I said could. Brett will tell you it IS the last. I am having a ton of contractions that make me uncomfortable and that about sums it up. They can be every 5 minutes, but just never get harder. I know that could change at any minute but I also know that means it could be another week. Believe me, I am not keeping anything crossed at this point! We still haven't decided on a name, I hope something comes to us in the hospital or we could be calling this baby Baby Girl for a long time. The kids are so excited and KK keeps asking when this cute baby is coming out. Curious as to why she thinks it will be cute, she told me it si because I put headbands on the girls and that makes them cute.
Anyway, the pictures from the snowmobiling trip looked amazing. They went up to Wasatch Park in Midway. It was a beautiful day, warm weather and had snowed earlier in the week, lucky for them!

Kauai: Day 7 Helicopter RIDE

I think I have refused to finish this blog post about Hawaii because that would actually be admitting that my trip came to an end. Which it sadly did. We had such a great time and it is hard to believe how quickly it went by!

The last day of the trip we decided to go on a helicopter tour. We debated between that and a Napali Coast tour but decided a coast tour might be to choppy and rough for me. We went with Safari Helicopter Tours and the owner of the company was our pilot. There were 2 other couples on the chopper besides us.

The tour was breathtaking. Amazing aerial views of the island, especially of the Napali Coast. These shots aren't the clearest because they are taken through the helicopter window. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. It was amazing to cover the whole island in such a short period of time.

The rest of the day we spent hanging out around the pool. I think one of the hardest things about Hawaii is that the flights out of there are only red eyes. Our flight didn't leave until 9 o'clock that night, but we had to check out of our hotel at 11:00 am. Makes it tough to know what to do for the day. We didn't want to get into the ocean, because then we wouldn't have had any where to shower. I think if we would have planned it better we would have down Waimea Canyon after the tour so we wouldn't have had to feel like we were just sitting at the hotel on the beach. We did manage to hit Kauai Pasta again before we left.

It was a much needed vacation and I am so grateful we got to go! One last little hoorah before the next little munchkin joins our family.

Hanalei-Okolehao Trail, Day 6

One thing I definitely did not know about Kauai is that it is known for its hiking. Had a known that, and the fact that they have true red dirt, I don't think I would have taken my bright white, brand new kicks. There are some gorgeous trails, some easy, some not so much. Our very favorite thing of the whole trip was the Hanalei Trail along the Napali Coast. It was breathtaking. The hike starts out at Hanakapiai Beach and leads you to a scenic beach and then up the valley to Hanakapiai Falls. There is the typical water hole at the end of the falls that many ventured into to take a dip. It was freezing water and had started to rain, so we passed. Brett and I thought we had read somewhere that the hike would take 2-3 hours. We took a couple of water bottles and 2 granola bars. We figured we would catch some lunch after. Five hours later and a moderately strenous hike, we were done. I really wish we would have had more water more than anything. It was so hot and humid we both were dripping sweat! The Napali coast is one of the highlights of the island. It is majestic and unique. Many movies have been filmed here.

At the end of the hike, they were a bunch of guys selling fresh coconut. Brett thought he would give one a try. We had heard they were delicious. Blah! It was enough to almost make me puke. We drove around in Princeville and decided there wasn't much there and ended up eating at some random place not to be recommended. Brett even fed chicken to the chickens. Sounds so wrong! But we did find the best Shave ice on the island. Can't remember the name but I think it was off the main road in Kaapa. What a day to remember.
