Some Big Shoes to Fill

We headed back down to the Jazz practice facility on Saturday night to kill some time between the wedding luncheon and reception. The kids were having fun trying on all of the shoes that were lying around. Keep in mind that most shoes there were atleast size 15. The boxes were set out after the Friday night loss so the players could clean out their lockers. We were hoping the players might have shown up to pack them up, but they didn't make it before we left. I had also heard that Kyle Korver had a scripture on his shoe and I wanted to check it out to see what it really was. Sure enough, there it was. Thanks Uncle Smitty for our backstage pass!!! The kids love the special treat.

These are a few pics of the Jazz game, I realize they are late being posted, but better late than never. I am sad the Jazz lost, and even more sad that KOBE won. I so DISLIKE him. Hondo, he gloats just like you. It seriously pangs me to know he won. I should be saying the Lakers won, but we all know it is somewhat of a one man show plus the officials.

Singing Jazz Style

Friday night my husband and I went to the Jazz game, thanks to B's aunt Linda and Uncle Smitty. I must admit it was a rockin' game. It was so much fun, especially since the JAZZ WON. Anyone following the series knows they won again today, so the series is tied 2-2. Back to LA to see Jack N. with his sunglasses and a few others. Although, Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudson were at the game today (in town shooting the new HSM 3). Anyway, Murray's own hometown Idol, David Archuletta, just happened to be doing his hometown welcome and then boogied on down to the Energy Solutions to sing the National Anthem. Apparently it wasn't televised, so I took it upon myself to get it on tape for all of you. The footage is horrible, the dumb camera men wouldn't get out of the way. They acted as if they were taping for something more important (watch American Idol this week and you'll see). The kid really has a great voice and it was fun to see him act all flustered again. We also got the chance to go and see the Jazz players in the "Family Room" after the game. We got Andre Kirelinko's autograph on our t-shirts for T-man and even got a few pics. And yes ladies, I got to see Kyle Korver, up close but not so personal, and I tried really hard not to ask him for his picture. I wanted to show a little more restraint than that. But, unfortunately, I am not very smart sometimes and happened to format my disc erasing all my hard work. I am disappointed, but what do you do (obviously not what I did--format). I am learning a few things about all this new technology. I don't know why, but it wouldn't give me the option not to format it. I took it out and put it back in but it kept going to the same screen automatically. I was hoping to show all of you what you missed out on, especially AK 47 signing the shirt, maybe next time.

You are wonderful women who have sacrificed for you children, but more than anything you have always loved your children. We love and appreciate all you do. Who Will It BE?

This article http://www.newsweek.com/id/135758?GT1=43002 was on MSN today. It is titled America's Next Top Mormon. Articles like this always make me laugh. I think it was a respectful enough article, even shows off that Mormons actually have talent, wow, imagine that. I really felt like the article tried to show that we are normal people who have talents and are successful, but at the same time it made me feel as if there are a number of people who think we aren't living among them. It is as if we are a different breed and are expected to live in sects and not be "mainstreamed" into society. The article recognizes the fact that there are very many successful Mormons but acts as if this is news to many. Focusing attention on the recent American Idol activity, shocking news, there were 2 Mormons in the TOP 5. Talented individuals? Absolutely. One definitely had more personality than the other, but aside from that, it has been a relief to see some wholesome individuals on TV who aren't vowing for attention by being skanky or punky. To top it off Marie Osmond is even quoted saying that we should vote on talent not on religion, that when other contestants are up there we aren't voting on whether they are Jewish or Presbyterian. True enough but lets not forget who carried her through her dancing competition. But the most amazing thing about her quote in relation to the article, is that itself: The article was written. We don't get other articles about Catholics or Episcopalians being in the spotlight, but somehow the Mormons always do. Something draws attention to these contestants, and many of us know just what it is. Let's not forget what it is others see in us. It reminds me of being a student in Israel and being asked repeatedly what it was that made us seem so different. A student wrote a song that became our "Theme" that I have had the words on this blog before. It is titled A Light Always Before Me. Need I really explain it any more? Having said that, Let's rock on. Go David!!! ( I really don't care which one, I like them both)

Finally!!!

My brother and sister-in-law finally had their baby today.
She was 41 weeks+, and probably very ready needless to say.

Obviously

It is very apparent from these pictures where my girls got their long locks of hair at such a young age. It is also fairly obvious who the acrobat is in the family. I thought maybe some of you might have mistaken my sister for me in the yoga pics, but I don't think I pulled it off. I have started yoga, but I can't do those moves yet, I think it will be a few months before I have enough strength to do it, if I can ever do it.
