On the waiting list at the Y. There still is a chance. And we have yet to hear from the other school on the hill. The U. Until then. We will keep: Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin', Planning and dreamin' each night of his charms.

Clarification
So, we got into Gonzaga but aren't necessarily going there. We are waiting to hear from a number of other schools and then we will have to decide. But, atleast we have gotten in somewhere.
On a Brighter Note
Brett got a job! It is work and he will have a schedule and we can get back into a better routine! Wa-hoo. It is a perfect job because it wasn't like they were necessarily looking for anyone full-time right now and they just needed help. He also got accepted to GONZAGA University in Spokane Washington. I know they accepted him because I went out on a limb this year and picked them to win the NCAA Championship game. It is a step in the right direction.

When It Rains, It Pours
That is how I have felt lately anyway. Bottom line is this, I backed out of my driveway yesterday and hit my brother's car. Oops. You don't have to say it for me-THAT SUCKS. I know. I had a bunch of kids in my car and got distracted trying to tell one to sit down and get buckled as I looked in my rear view mirror that as I barely started moving, and went to hit the brake, I hit his car. Not horrible damage, but enough that we will have to fix it. I hate putting money into cars that is unnecessary. Kind of like my tires. I said it before and I will say it again. Life comes at you fast. Now onto to enjoying my day off-no work. Yeah!

To Be Young Again
P: "Mommy, I need to tell you sonesthing, you know what is really exciting?"
"No, what?"
P: "Easter is in 18 days, and that is like 1 day. And I am big enough to get eggs all by myself this year."

It's Gotta Be Spring!
I am starting to get the fever! This week it has been such nice weather that we even had a day we made it to the park! I was in charge of a craft group this week as well. We made cards. It was fun, a lot of work for me. When they asked me to head up this craft group they did it because they heard I was a "crafty" person. I laughed! And laughed some more. I really don't consider myself a crafty person but the more I get around other people and see some of their skills I am actually beginning to think I might be. SCARY. But, I will admit, I did learn this from my mom growing up. She was never afraid to jump into a project and figure it out. I remember watching her build a set of triple bunk beds that are the sturdiest bunk beds I have ever seen. I guess I go with that same philosophy of just figuring it out so it gets done, and it kind of makes me a somewhat crafty person. I had to help finish up a few cards so I came home and took over the kitchen table. I was going to take a picture just so everyone could see that I am not the cleanest scrapbooker, but I forgot and cleaned it up today. I think I have made well over 30 cards in the last couple of days and am very proud of some of my creations. It is about time I use some of my scrapbook store from the basement! Now that the stuff is all out, I just want to keep going. We will see how long this last.
Then I was in charge of the Jump for Heart at T-man's school. I had an event day for the 4-6th graders. It went well. However, I had laryngitis which made it really hard for anyone to hear me. Great timing to get sick. Thanks Brett for the cold, I still feel awful!
I think today we may have to pull some of those foreign weeds that like to grow in my neck of the woods. They grow way too fast and way too big. I am starting to see my tulips that I planted in the fall come up so I am excited. My friend continues to reassure me you can't mess tulips up but I was beginning to wonder. Guess that is what happens when you are north facing, spring takes a little bit longer to get to you.

The Green, Mean Incredible Hulk
The other day Brett was playing hide and go seek with the kids with a green laser gun. When it was shone on the face, it obviously made the face look green. Brett told the kids they looked like the Hulk and then had to tell them who the Hulk was. They took it in stride. Until that night. He was reading to them when the Princess got really quiet. She snuggled up to him tighter and started to ask all sorts of questions. She wanted to know if he came and took kids in the middle of the night. Brett reassured her that he only came out in the day. She wanted to know why he was green. She told me it was because he must have ate a LOT of broccoli. But my favorite was when she asked me, "Why do people lose their temperature?". I couldn't figure out what she meant and with further probing, what do you mean, you mean when you have a fever, etc, she clarified, "No, like the Hulk". Oh, it dawned on me. Brett had explained to them he turns green when he loses his TEMPER. I asked her if that is what she meant and she said yes and I had to explain to her what that meant (like when I get really mad when you do something you shouldn't). The Hulk has been on her mind ever since. Poor thing. I guess that is what happens when you have a very active imagination.

More of the Waiting Game
Brett got his LSAT score back and I must say I think he did fairly well considering he crammed for just 1 month before the test. I am not sure if it really is a test you can "cram" for and who really cares what outfit color combinations you can do if red can't be next to blue and yellow can only be next to orange but red is next to yellow only if blue is on the left of orange. He has applied for a number of schools and he continues to get application waivers to some schools. We know we will get in somewhere, but we are still holding out to get in locally. He did well enough to get into most schools, but let's be honest, not well enough to get into the big top 5. Besides, he has a few things pulling against him: WHITE, MALE, ETC. You get the drift. So now we are in the same holding pattern, waiting. Waiting to see if we can keep our lives here or if we are in for some big surprises.

The Sleigh Ride in a Wagon

Over Christmas we were supposed to go on a sleigh ride but because of a terrible storm that we got hit with, we missed it. This last weekend we decided to make good on the gift certificate and headed up to Midway to use it. The problem was, there wasn't enough snow so we had to go on a wagon ride instead. The kids had fun and we enjoyed learning about Hitch and Hike, the Clydesdale horses that pulled the wagon. We learned that Clydesdale horses are actually pretty lazy and got their image all because of Budweiser. We saw a herd of deer on the golf course and went and peered into the Crater, a swimming hole. It was perfect weather and no one complained of being cold!

It's Snow Fun

We got away to Midway President's Day weekend and were lucky enough to wake up to a ton of snow. The kids were so excited and headed out with their dad to play in the snow. They found huge icicles to play swords with, managed a few snow angels, and didn't even cry when snow got in their faces. They lasted a lot longer than I thought they would have, especially their dad! The bad news is that we forgot our sleds, but we didn't need them to have fun.
